CGI Construction in Mountain View, CA | Silver Line Contractors

CGI cabinetry and millwork service in Mountain View comes down to one thing: knowing how these boxes behave inside 1950s and 60s Eichlers and ranchers, where radiant slabs move and post-and-beam walls are rarely square. We’re Silver Line Contractors, an independent CGI service provider offering our Home Remodeling in Mountain View across all four ZIP codes (94039, 94040, 94041, 94042), and we handle installation, refacing, and repair for CGI Euro-style, Shaker, RTA, and bath vanity lines. Why Mountain View Residents Choose Us for CGI Service

Noel Carvalho, our owner and Mountain View General Contractor, spent years working every phase of residential builds across Santa Clara County before starting Silver Line Contractors. He grew up watching his father patch and improve the family home in Gilroy, and that’s where he learned good work either holds or it doesn’t. That’s the standard we bring to CGI cabinetry in Mountain View.

We’re independent, not authorized or endorsed by CGI. That matters because we’ll tell you straight when a CGI cabinet run makes sense for your house and when a different line fits the framing better. We spec CGI’s own replacement doors, drawer boxes, and hardware where they’re available and dimensionally correct. When OEM lead times drag or a finish is discontinued, we turn to quality aftermarket hinges, slides, and levelers instead of stalling your kitchen. On a 1960s Mountain View rancher, we’ll always price CGI in Sunnyvale-style repair against replace honestly. A re-faced CGI run on sound boxes often beats tearing out millwork that’s still structurally fine.

Our CGI sales & service work spans cabinet installation and refacing, quartz and granite countertops, and small or partial kitchen remodels, all under one contract.

Common CGI Construction Problems We Solve in Mountain View

  • Thermofoil and melamine facing delaminating on bath and kitchen boxes. Mountain View Eichlers run radiant slab heat, and that slab pushes humidity swings through under-ventilated cabinet runs. We see the facing peel at the edges first, usually on base cabinets against exterior walls. The fix is often new doors or drawer fronts, not a full tear-out, but it depends how far the peeling has spread.
  • Frameless boxes racked out of square. CGI frameless cabinets rely on square walls. In 1950s and 60s tract homes that have settled, face frames torque and doors rub at the corners. We shim and scribe to the wall, but if the carcass itself has twisted, replacement is the honest call.
  • Particleboard-and-melamine carcasses swollen at the toe kick. A slow leak in original galvanized supply or drain lines can go unnoticed under a base cabinet for months. By the time you see the damage, the bottom of the box has crumbled. We pull the run, fix the plumbing, and rebuild on adjustable legs with a moisture barrier over the slab.
  • Drawer box and slide hardware sagging on lighter RTA lines. Fully loaded drawer banks hanging on a wall without proper blocking will sag and lose soft-close alignment. We add blocking, replace worn slides, and re-align the faces so the drawers close the way they should.
  • Doors out of alignment after seasonal movement. Mountain View’s mild, wet winters and dry summers make exterior walls move. On an Eichler with minimal wall insulation, that movement shows up as cabinet doors that no longer sit flush. We adjust hinges and re-square faces during the same visit, not over three callbacks.

CGI Service in Mountain View: What Local Conditions Mean for Your Equipment

Here’s the thing about Mountain View that doesn’t apply the same way in Los Altos or Palo Alto. Eichler and post-war tract homes here were built with radiant slab heating and little or no wall insulation. The slab and exterior walls move with seasonal temperature swings. That movement racks frameless CGI cabinet runs out of square, and it drives condensation inside closed base cabinets against exterior walls. A new North Bayshore townhome doesn’t have this problem. Its walls are insulated, its framing is current, and its slab doesn’t transfer heat the same way. But in Waverly Park and Cuesta Park, where the original redwood siding hides decades of DIY electrical and the radiant slab runs right under your kitchen, a CGI cabinet run has to be installed with that movement in mind from day one. If it isn’t, you’ll be chasing doors and delaminating facings every winter. We shim, scribe, and add moisture barriers because we know the house will move. It’s not a defect in the cabinet. It’s the house doing what a 1960s Eichler does.

Good construction doesn’t need a sales pitch, the work explains itself.

CGI Models & Products We Service in Mountain View

We work across the CGI lines that show up most often in Mountain View kitchens and baths. That includes CGI Euro-style frameless full-overlay cabinets, CGI Shaker-style painted and stained cabinetry, CGI ready-to-assemble (RTA) kitchen cabinet lines, and CGI melamine and thermofoil bath vanity boxes. For replacement parts, we spec CGI’s own doors, drawer boxes, and hardware where they’re available and dimensionally correct. When a discontinued finish or a slow OEM lead time would stall your project, we turn to quality aftermarket hinges, slides, and levelers. We keep common hardware and levelers in stock locally, so a door adjustment or slide replacement in Mountain View doesn’t wait on a parts shipment unless it’s a proprietary CGI component.

CGI Service Pricing in Mountain View

What you’ll pay depends on how much of the run needs work and whether the boxes are structurally sound enough to reface. Here are the ranges we quote most often in Mountain View:

Service Typical Mountain View Range
Cabinet Installation $4,000 – $13,000
Countertop Installation $2,000 – $6,500
Small Kitchen Remodel $9,000 – $20,000
Backsplash Installation $800 – $2,500

What drives the cost in Mountain View specifically is the condition of the walls and slab. Eichler face frames take longer to shim square. Radiant slabs need a moisture barrier before new boxes go down. Asbestos checks on old floor tile and duct wrap add a step before demo. Our free estimate includes a written line-item quote covering all of that, so you’re not surprised by a change order later. Call (833) 400-1314 to schedule yours.
